A. NinjaPDF (Autumn ’07 version) is an on-demand SaaS (Software as a Service) that is easy to use, very fast and is able to produce highly compressed, yet high quality PDF files. NinjaPDF is a breeze to use, even for those with little experience. NinjaPDF comes with popup help tips to guide users on their way and to better understand the features. All you need to do is follow steps 1, 2 and 3!

You can create PDF files online by simply clicking on the NinjaPDF tab or by using the “Account Detail” page featured on the Salesforce website. The former is for creating a PDF from local files while the latter is for creating a PDF from files stored in the Document tab. Once a user has created a PDF file, they can save it in one of the following four locations: the Notes & Attachments section in the salesforce “Account Detail” pages, the NinjaPDF field in the Documents tab, to the local directory on your PC and also by attaching the created PDF to a Salesforce email is just a mouse click away!

NinjaPDF is a suitable on-demand solution for business use, and, since it is an online service, you can easily use it from the office or on the road. NinjaPDF works with any image file, text file and with MS Office formats such Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.

Q. How much does NinjaPDF cost?

A. NinjaPDF is a monthly-based subscription service with a set cost of $5 per month per user.

Q. What payment methods are available?

A. We have a soon-to-be released wizard that will guide you through the registration process to set you up for monthly payments. You may use your credit card or ACH (Automated Check Handling). The details will be made available on our SKYCOM website in December 2007. We will also send out an email of the details to everyone that participates in the free trial.

Q. Will I need to pay extra for new features that get added later?

A. No. This release (Autumn ’07) of standard version of NinjaPDF will remain $5 per month even if upgrades are made and new features are added. That is actually one of the benefits of NinjaPDF in that you will always be using the latest version without fussing over additional costs for added features.

Q. In addition to my own computer, where else can I save the original and converted files (files converted to PDF)?

A. You can save your PDF files in the following four locations:

  1. You can download them to your own computer.
  2. You can press the "Create and Attach NinjaPDF" button in the Salesforce Account tab's Account Detail page and then save them in the Notes & Attachments column of the same page. This is a useful way to manage your PDF files restricting access to client information.
  3. You can also save them in the NinjaPDF field of the Salesforce Documents tab.
  4. Finally, you can attach the created PDF directly to a Salesforce email and then send it on its way.
Q. Are my files (both before and after PDF conversion) secured when transmitting them to and from your site? How do you secure them?

A. We use HTTPS to keep your files secure during transmission.

Q. What is the strength of 128 bit encryption?

A. 128 bit encryption technology is RSA security certified for as a high-level security protection for documents.

Q. What is a master password?

A. This is the password used by the person (the master) creating the PDF file to set and edit security options.

Q. I forgot my PDF viewing password. What should I do?

A. This is a password set the person (the master) who created the PDF file. Therefore, you should ask the person who sent you the PDF file for the password.

Q. Why does NinjaPDF embed the fonts into the file?

A. Embedding fonts into a given file ensures that viewers of the PDF files you create will be able to view them as you intended regardless of the language of their system. For example, you can create files in Japanese, German, Chinese and Korean and so forth, and then still be able to view and print them correctly in their original language on an English operating system.

Q. Are there any size restrictions for the source file (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, image, text files)?

A. Yes, the maximum file size allowed per file is 50MB. However, there is no monthly limit to the number of times you convert a file to PDF.

Q. Can NinjaPDF convert older versions of MS Office document?

A. As a rule of thumb, if you can open the document in question with Office 2003 then NinjaPDF should be able to convert it to PDF.
